Gwen & Jim Morrison offer a warm, comfortable home base in which you can relax in our Guests' Conservatory or recover from a hard day's sight-seeing around our many beauty spots in our selection of cosy guest rooms.

We have 2 twin and 2 double bedrooms, all with private showers, wash-basins, colour TV, central heating, and tea/coffee making facilities, also one large familly room, completely en-suite. Hair dryers and radio alarms in all rooms.

Daily room service is provided, and ironing facilities are available on request. Cot and high chair are available for babies, and pets are welcome, by arrangement.

Choose from our extensive varied menu, or enjoy an excellent full Highland breakfast in our tasteful, friendly dining room where guests exchange tales of their trips around the Highlands. Perhaps a glimpse of "Nessie" or a free "dram" at one of our many surrounding distilleries. Tea and coffee can be served "al fresco" on our patio (weather permitting!).

Although only 5 minutes walk from the centre of our lovely City, Pitfaranne stands in a quiet street, east of the picturesque River Ness, where our famous Ness salmon are caught. We have lots of information for you to help make the most of your stay in the Highlands, and do our best to make your holiday memorable and fun. Should you require it, we will even collect our guests from the Bus/Railway station.

So, wheather passing through or looking for a good homely base from which to tour our beautiful countryside and enjoy our night life, Pitfaranne provides all you could ask for.

River Ness Inverness
Inverness Castle
Loch Ness
There is a huge diversity of activities and places to see in and around Inverness. If Forts and Castles are your thing, then visit Fort George near Ardersier on the A96, just 8 miles away, or the famous Urquart Castle, just approx. 20 miles drive along the edge of Loch Ness. See if you can spot "Nessie" our world renowned monster while you're there! We even have our own Castle right here in Inverness - well worth a visit!

Another worthwhile trip is to see Culloden Battlefield, where Bonnie Prince Charlie fought the Duke of Cumberland's English Army. As well as guided walks around the site, there is a Visitor Center where you can learn all about the Battle and the events leading up to it. Culloden Battlefield is only 4 miles away, to the East of Inverness.

If night life is your thing, you'll find a wealth of Bars and Clubs around Inverness.

If you're into shopping and leisure, visit Inverness Retail Park 1 mile along the A96, where you will find all the usual big name shops as well as Fast Food outlets and a huge Cinema complex. Not quite so easy to find, but just as much fun is the Rollerbowl complex. Very popular with the local people in Inverness, ask us when you get here, and we'll give you directions! In fact, ask us about any destination and we'll see you get there safely.

On top of all that, just try driving in any direction from Inverness, and we promise you the most breath-taking scenery you will see anywhere on Earth.
